Opportunity:

RN - Labor & Delivery

Job Details:

* High risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with all types of L&D cases
* Unit operates with 31 beds and rooms with an average daily census of 15 patients and 500-600 deliveries per month
* 4 operating rooms on unit
* Schedule is posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
* Float required between Postpartum and Antepartum units and may float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby coverage
* Functions in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and continues care of the newborn until transfer to Postpartum - HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Must circulate for C-sections - HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Provide newborn care including eyes and Vitamin K injections, thigh injections, and newborn assessments
* Administer and manage Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate drips
* Must be comfortable working in fast-paced, high acuity environments
* Patient population includes midwifery clients, private OB patients, Adult Recovery Services supporting substance recovery, and community care clinic patients
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* At least 1 year of experience required with high risk experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required skills include: electronic fetal monitoring, amnioinfusion, antepartum care, cesarean section, circulating for C-section, epidural anesthesia management, hemorrhage/shock management, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate therapy, neonatal resuscitation, newborn assessment, pitocin administration, postpartum hemorrhage management, and triage of obstetrical patients

Facility:

This facility is a high-volume, high-risk Labor & Delivery unit equipped with 4 operating rooms and 31 beds, serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and those receiving adult recovery services. The unit follows AWHONN staffing guidelines and utilizes Epic for electronic charting and fetal monitoring. The organization operates multiple campuses, allowing for occasional floating between sister facilities to support comprehensive women's and newborn care services.
