Opportunity:

Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with 48-hour weeks approved
* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* No block scheduling required
* Patient ratio of 1:5
* Float between units to meet unit needs
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Minimum 1 year of neurology RN experience required
* Must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology and varied neurology diagnosis patients
* Epic charting system experience required
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury care, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury care
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Unit is a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, Spine Center of Excellence JCAHO designation, and NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center designation
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital with Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designations. With 629 staffed beds, this teaching hospital provides comprehensive care across a wide range of specialties. The neuroscience unit is a designated stroke unit and houses a nationally recognized epilepsy center, supporting a high level of neurological and neurosurgical patient care.
