Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
* Every-other weekend requirement
* Occasional holiday shifts required
* Patient ratio of 3-4:1
* Primary assignment at St. Joseph Medical Center with float requirements throughout Region Two, including St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, WA; St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw, WA; and St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, WA
* Treat emergency patients including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and ACS cases
* 33-bed unit with 2 trauma bays and 5 psych/seclusion rooms
* Fast track available
* Department sees approximately 125-140 patients per day
* Charge nurse available 24/7
* ED technicians, security, IV team, respiratory therapy, and ED physicians/mid-levels available 24/7
* Pharmacy support available 20 hours per day (7:00 AM to 3:00 AM)
* Perform lab draws as needed
* Ventilator experience required
* Charting system: Epic
* Scrub color: Navy blue (top and bottom)
* One day of floor-specific orientation provided
* Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
* BSN not required
* Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks

This acute care facility operates a robust emergency department equipped with trauma bays, psychiatric seclusion rooms, and comprehensive 24/7 support services. The department is supported by a full team including ED technicians, security personnel, an IV team, respiratory therapy, and both physicians and mid-level providers. The facility utilizes Epic as its electronic medical records system and maintains a high-volume emergency environment capable of handling complex cases including stroke, STEMI, trauma, and acute coronary syndrome.
