Opportunity:

RN - ER

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* Every other weekend schedule required
* Expected to work some holidays
* No on-call or standby requirements
* No floating requirements within the unit
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4
* Orientation consists of one 12-hour shift with an experienced ED RN
* Scrub color required: Royal Blue
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
* Minimum one year of experience required; prefer travelers who have completed 1-2 prior travel assignments
* Behavioral health experience required
* Must be comfortable with common diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, sepsis, chest pain, psychosis, and behavioral health patients
* Must be comfortable administering common drips including insulin, cardiac drips, sedation, and critical drips
* RNs are responsible for drawing labs with phlebotomy available to assist when needed
* RNs responsible for monitoring telemetry using Phillips monitors
* RNs perform breathing treatments; RT is paged as needed
* Travelers with charge nurse experience may be utilized in a charge role, particularly on night shifts
* Driver's license required at time of submittal
* Clinical profile review and manager interview required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates as a STEMI-receiving and comprehensive Stroke Center emergency department with 17 beds that can flex to 22 with hallway beds. The emergency department treats an average of 66 patients per day and features dedicated psych rooms, a triage area, and in-house security available 24/7. The facility is supported by ED physicians and mid-level providers, ED techs, and respiratory therapy available on-call, creating a collaborative team environment where both staff and travelers are treated with respect and as integral members of the team.
