Job Details:

* High acuity, high volume emergency department with approximately 230 visits per day and 36 beds with overflow units
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Case load includes all ages, primarily geriatric and adult patients; approximately 10% pediatric patients who will be transported to CHOC
* Patient diagnoses include respiratory, stroke, abdominal pain, cardiac, and sepsis
* Stroke and STEMI Center designation
* Magnet designated facility
* Stroke experience required - hard stop
* Epic experience highly preferred
* Minimum 1.5 years of emergency department experience required; 2 years preferred
* Must be available to work at least 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule cycle, which may include a shift every weekend
* Travel experience required
* No on-call required
* May be required to float to telemetry hold and ICU hold units as needed
* May be required to transport patients (MRI, NM, etc.)
* Perform bedside procedures and wound care
* Titrate drips and administer emergency medications
* Skills include blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, IV vasopressors, 12-lead EKG/ECG, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, triage, and suicidal patient management
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: TNCC and CEN or CPN
* Scrub color for RN: Royal Blue
* Charting system: Meditech

This acute care hospital features 320 staffed beds and operates a high-acuity, high-volume emergency department seeing approximately 230 patients per day. The facility is a Magnet-designated organization and serves as a Stroke and STEMI Center, offering comprehensive interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary services.
