Job Details:
* Work 12.5-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
* 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule block required
* No on-call or float requirements
* Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* BSN required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* Prior travel experience required - no first-time travelers accepted
* EPIC EMR experience required
* Must be comfortable with pediatric patients of all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Trauma experience (adult and pediatric ED) strongly preferred
* Teaching facility experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* California nursing license required - EMSA not accepted
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, BSN
* Preferred certifications: TNCC, NIHSS
* Required skills include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, BiPAP/CPAP management, interpretation of arterial blood gases, care of ventilated patients, isolation precautions and PPE, and triage
* Work in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department operating as a Level 1 Trauma Center, STEMI Center, and Comprehensive Stroke Center
* Navy blue scrubs provided
* Requested time off must be submitted on initial submittal and cannot be added after profile has been sent to manager
Facility:
This world-class academic medical center is a tertiary and quaternary care facility serving as a Level 1 Trauma Center, STEMI Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Transplant Center. The facility operates a combined adult and pediatric emergency department with 550 beds and approximately 180 patient visits per day. The organization is a Magnet-designated facility, a designated LA County Base Station, and a paramedic receiving facility, supported by an extensive interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams.
