Opportunity:

PCU/Step down Float RN

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 3 shifts per week
* Float position covering PCU, MS/Tele, and Med Surg units based on institutional needs
* Patient population includes ER boarded patients, telemetry, med surg, and PCU patients
* Nurse to patient ratio varies from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Weekend coverage required
* May include charge nurse responsibilities on smaller units, including managing staffing needs, bed flow, and general coordination
* Charge nurse experience is required
* Minimum 3 years of experience required; must have experience in the US
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* Charting system: Epic experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, NIHSS
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, epidural analgesia, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions and PPE, IV insulin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration, tracheostomy care, wound care and wound vac, PICC line management, phlebotomy, PCA, telemetry monitoring, and use of rapid response and code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* 24 orientation hours provided
* 2 references required covering 1 year within the last 3 years, completed during compliance process and prior to start

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility operates 325 staffed beds and provides a wide range of inpatient services to adults and geriatric populations. The organization supports a collaborative, interdisciplinary care model with access to IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more. The facility utilizes Epic for electronic charting and maintains high standards for clinical expertise across its float pool and specialized units.
