Open Position: RN - NICU

Opportunity:

RN - NICU-Based Float Pool

Job Details:

* 37.5 hours guaranteed per week
* Every other weekend requirement (Saturday/Sunday)
* Must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
* Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
* Float pool position requiring rotation between NICU Level III, PICU, Pediatrics, and Newborn Nursery - floating is required without exception
* Appropriate patient assignment based on skill set will be provided when floated
* Patient ratios vary based on unit, acuity, census, and staffing
* 1.5 years of experience required with documented NICU Level III and PICU experience
* EPIC charting system experience required
* Active NJ or Compact nursing license required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS
* Required clinical skills include: arterial line management, central line/implanted line care, UAC/UVC management, IV vasopressors, steroids, surfactants, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), placement and management of oral/nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes, and neonatal abstinence syndrome management
* Dress code: Navy pants with Peds top
* First-time travelers accepted
* Local candidates accepted

This facility features a 56-bed Level III NICU and serves as a Regional Perinatal Center caring for more than 1,200 premature and ill newborns annually. The PICU provides comprehensive medical and surgical care supported by full-time pediatric critical care physicians and pediatric subspecialists. This 597-bed teaching hospital serves as a major teaching affiliate of a leading New Jersey medical school and is part of the state's largest integrated healthcare system.
