Opportunity:
RN - Outpatient Oncology
Job Details:
* 8-hour day shifts
* Ambulatory RN Float Pool assignment supporting adult solid tumor Medical Oncology and Surgical Oncology practices
* Ability to float to other facilities within 75+ mile radius based on operational needs
* Specific clinic/practice assignment may vary based on operational needs
* Responsibilities include patient assessment and triage, symptom and treatment-toxicity assessment, care coordination, patient education, medication review, telephone/MyChart triage, follow-up of clinical concerns, and coordination of diagnostic testing and treatment plans
* Surgical Oncology assignments may include pre/post-operative education, wound assessment, drain care, and other clinic-based care
* Works collaboratively with physicians, APPs, RNs, and interdisciplinary teams including interpretation services, social services, and rapid response teams
* Patients include adults and geriatrics with solid tumors across multiple oncology specialties including breast, GI, GU, thoracic, head & neck, endocrine, melanoma/skin, and other cancers
* Uses standard ambulatory clinic and exam-room equipment including vital-sign equipment, scales, computers/workstations, and general assessment supplies
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* 3 years of experience required
* Minimum 1 year of ambulatory experience required
* Minimum 2 years of Oncology experience in Medical Oncology or Surgical Oncology required
* Outpatient Oncology experience required
* Minimum 1 year of travel experience required
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Experience with telephone triage and symptom assessment required
* Previous charge experience preferred
* BSN required
* California RN license required
* Required certifications: AHA BLS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, Chemo (ONS/ONCC), OCN, ONS/ONCC, BMT
* Required skills include: advanced directives, care coordination, monitoring chemotherapy, neutropenic precautions, oral administration of chemotherapy, telephone triage, patient/family education and support, recognize/communicate abnormal lab values, PICC line care, and wound care
* 2 references from most recent employer required
