Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
* Patient ratio of 2:1 on days, nights, and weekends
* 6 weekend shifts required per contract
* Will be expected to work 3 out of 5 winter holidays
* Candidates will float within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* CCRN preferred
* Required skills include: arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, continuous IV sedation, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring, titrating cardiac drips, and ventilator management
* ECMO experience preferred; ECMO, LVAD, IABP, and EKOS procedures performed on unit
* IABP experience preferred
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Common patient diagnoses include heart and lung transplant, CABG, STEMI, NSTEMI, ARDS, heart failure, vascular, esophagectomy, and VATS
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility
* Compact or Kentucky state license required

Facility:

This health system operates a large cardiovascular intensive care unit with 44 beds and a daily census of 44 patients. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The unit specializes in advanced cardiac and thoracic care, supporting complex procedures and diagnoses in a high-acuity environment.
