Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM with various days of the week, may include some mid/day shifts based on staffing needs
* Every other weekend requirement
* No on-call or float requirements
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Minimum 3 years of experience in Trauma and Adult Emergency Department required
* First-time travelers accepted with caution based on ER nursing experience
* Required certifications: BSN, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI
* California RN License required (EMSA not accepted)
* Epic charting system experience required
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
* Average daily census of 140 patients across 21 beds
* Required clinical skills include triage, IV placement and maintenance, blood product administration, 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, procedural sedation monitoring, management of dysrhythmias, interpretation of ABGs, central line care, chest tube management, care of ventilated patients, and splint application
* Must be able to manage patients presenting with emergency conditions including trauma, stroke, STEMI, psychiatric holds, seizures, overdose, and multisystem organ dysfunction

This medical center is a full-service academic hospital offering a comprehensive emergency department with an average daily census of 140 patients. The facility is both STEMI and Stroke Certified, with robust interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and interpretation services. The emergency department cares for patients across all age groups and manages a wide range of acute and critical conditions.
