Opportunity:

RN - CVICU

Job Details:

* Work in a 16-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:2, with 1:1 ratios for certain device patients
* Provide care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADs
* Perform central line insertion, swan insertion, and intubations on unit
* Strong critical care experience including CVICU experience required
* Advanced skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required
* Preferred experience with IABP, Impella, and CRRT
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
* Documentation system: Meditech
* Equipment used includes Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, and Alaris IV pumps
* Scheduling requires 2 weekends per month, 1 summer holiday, and 2 winter holidays
* Floating policy requires floating as needed, typically to other ICUs but may include other floors
* Required uniform: Scrubs in black, red, or galaxy blue; scrub jackets or vests only

This facility is an award-winning healthcare organization recognized with the HCA Unit of Distinction Award and Daisy Award. The CVICU unit features 5 full-time surgeons performing high-volume and advanced cardiac surgeries, specializing in post-operative cardiac surgery care and devices. The unit maintains an intensivist assigned 24/7 and is supported by a strong, experienced nursing team with excellent teamwork. Additional support staff includes a free-floating charge nurse, unit secretary, Administrative Care Tech Monday through Friday, and Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts.
