Opportunity:

RN - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Job Details:

* 13-week assignment with available start dates every Monday
* Navy blue scrubs required
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1, sometimes 5:1
* No local travelers; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
* High-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU unit
* Strong cardiac background required
* EPIC experience required
* Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience required
* Must be able to independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt with no remediation opportunities
* Dysrhythmia Exam is paper-based, proctored, and requires the use of calipers; no tech assistance permitted
* Must have a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
* Must have chest tube experience
* Experience with cardiac drips required, including: Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
* Heart transplant experience preferred (training available if needed)
* LVAD experience preferred (training available if needed)
* No ventilator patients
* Expect high patient acuity, frequent admissions and discharges, and significant procedural volume
* Common patient populations include: Heart Failure, A-Fib, Atrial Flutter, SVT, VTach, VFib, Fluid Volume Overload, Chest Pain, Hypertension, Heart Transplant, Congenital Heart Disease, and LVAD patients
* Common procedures include: Right and Left Heart Catheterizations, TR Band Management, Sheath Removal/Management, Stent Placement, Valve Replacement, STEMI/NSTEMI Care, Pacemakers, ICDs, Cardioversions, Ablations, and Groin Site Management
* Travelers may float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed but will not float to the Cardiac Monitor Tech role
