RN - PCU

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts
* 13-week assignment with available start dates every Monday
* Navy blue scrubs required
* 50-mile radius rule applies - no local travelers
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
* High-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU unit
* Strong cardiac background required
* EPIC experience required
* Minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience required
* Must independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt (no remediation opportunities)
* Exam is paper-based, proctored, and requires use of calipers - no tech assistance permitted
* Must have a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
* Must have chest tube experience
* Experience with cardiac drips required: Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
* Heart transplant experience preferred (training available if needed)
* LVAD experience preferred (training available if needed)
* No ventilator patients
* Expect high patient acuity, frequent admissions and discharges, and significant procedural volume
* Common patient populations include Heart Failure, A-Fib, Atrial Flutter, SVT, VTach, VFib, Fluid Volume Overload, Chest Pain, Hypertension, Heart Transplant, Congenital Heart Disease, and LVAD patients
* Common procedures include Right and Left Heart Catheterizations, TR Band Management, Sheath Removal and Management, Stent Placement, Valve Replacement, STEMI/NSTEMI Care, Pacemakers, ICDs, Cardioversions, Ablations, and Groin Site Management
* Travelers may float to similar cardiac/PCU units as needed but will not float to Cardiac Monitor Tech roles

The facility maintains rigorous clinical standards and requires travelers to demonstrate competency in telemetry interpretation and cardiac care prior to beginning their assignment.
