Opportunity:

RN - Step Down

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* 3 shifts per week with 36 guaranteed hours per week
* High-acuity, heavily cardiac-focused PCU unit
* Strong cardiac background required with minimum 18 months of recent cardiac unit experience
* EPIC experience required
* Must independently interpret cardiac rhythms and pass a Dysrhythmia Exam on the first attempt with no remediation opportunities
* Exam is paper-based, proctored, and requires the use of calipers - no tech assistance permitted
* Typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 to 1:5
* Expect high patient acuity, frequent admissions and discharges, and significant procedural volume
* Experience required with the following cardiac drips: Insulin, Milrinone, Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Heparin, Lasix, and Nitroglycerin
* Must have chest tube experience
* Must have a rating of "4" on all cardiac skills on the skills checklist
* Heart transplant experience preferred (training available if needed)
* LVAD experience preferred (training available if needed)
* No ventilator patients
* Common patient populations include Heart Failure, A-Fib, Atrial Flutter, SVT, VTach, VFib, Fluid Volume Overload, Chest Pain, Hypertension, Heart Transplant, Congenital Heart Disease, and LVAD patients
* Common procedures include Right and Left Heart Catheterizations, TR Band Management, Sheath Removal and Management, Stent Placement, Valve Replacement, STEMI/NSTEMI Care, Pacemakers, ICDs, Cardioversions, Ablations, and Groin Site Management
* May be required to float to similar cardiac and PCU units as needed
* Will not float to Cardiac Monitor Tech role
