Job Details:

* 13-week assignment with night shifts scheduled 3x12 hours
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period with the possibility of being called off for one 12-hour shift per 2 weeks
* Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend and is subject to staffing needs
* May float to lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and med-surg units to meet facility needs
* Block scheduling is not available
* Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* No on-call required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrubs are provided by the facility
* Parking is free
* Bedside RN-to-patient ratio is 1:4; CNA-to-patient ratio is 1:6
* Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model is utilized - each patient has one bedside RN, one Virtual RN, and one CNA
* Virtual nurse works remotely and assists with admissions, discharge, rounding, education, plans of care, and safety rounds
* Stepdown unit from ICU serving a wide variety of patient populations across multiple disciplines
* Approximately 30% of patient population is cardiac in nature including CHF, MI, TAVR, MVR, pacemaker, cardiac arrhythmia, ACS, and Angiovac patients
* Respiratory patients include COPD, asthma exacerbations, trach patients, chronic home ventilator patients, and patients requiring high-flow nasal cannula and BiPAP
* Additional patient populations include neuro overflow, renal patients, and complex medical-surgical patients requiring higher-level monitoring such as ETOH withdrawal and GI bleed
* Special equipment includes Philips Monitors in each room, Massimo Capnography, and safe patient handling equipment
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All RTO and specific scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the submittal process
