Job Details:

* 36-hour day shift schedule
* Patient ratio of 1:5-6
* Every other weekend requirement
* Float requirement within scope of practice
* 30-bed ortho/spine unit with medical overflow
* Patients served include adults and geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
* Documentation system: EPIC (experience required)
* Scrub color: Navy
* 2 years of experience required
* Travel experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Special equipment experience required: Wound Vac, CPM, Hoyer Lift
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, heparin, insulin, IV insulin protocols, isolation precautions/PPE, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, surgical drains, telemetry, total joint replacement, wound care/wound vac, ortho trauma, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation

This healthcare facility operates a dedicated orthopedic and spine unit with medical overflow capabilities, housing 30 beds to serve adult and geriatric patient populations. The unit is supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy. The facility utilizes EPIC as its documentation system and maintains a strong commitment to quality patient care through well-equipped resources and specialized support services.
