RN - Emergency Department

Job Details:

* 15-week contract for holiday coverage
* Available shift times include Days (7:00 AM?7:00 PM, 9:00 AM?9:00 PM), Mids (10:00 AM?10:00 PM, 11:00 AM?11:00 PM, 12:00 PM?12:00 AM, 1:00 PM?1:00 AM, 2:00 PM?2:00 AM), Evenings (3:00 PM?3:00 AM), and Nights (7:00 PM?7:00 AM)
* Every other weekend rotation required with occasional back-to-back weekends; flexibility preferred
* No on-call responsibilities
* No floating required
* Scrub color: Any, no logos
* Minimum 2 years of experience in a large volume, high acuity emergency department required
* First-time travelers will be considered
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, TNCC
* EMR: Epic experience required
* Patient ratios: 1:3?5 based on acuity; fast track green zone available with 13 beds; ER is set up in zones
* Patient population ranges from neonate to geriatric, including pediatric medical and trauma, stroke (administer TNK), cardiac (cath lab), behavioral health and substance use disorder
* Level III trauma center; stabilize and transfer out for neurosurgery, multi-system trauma, and high acuity pediatric patients
* Must pass hospital's Triage Test before being allowed to triage
* Required skills include barcode scanning medication administration, managing medication drips, blood product administration, triage experience, ability to set up chest tubes and arterial lines, assist with trauma and code cases, splinting, BiPAP/ventilator management, and strong understanding of ESI
* Pediatric emergency medicine experience highly preferred
* Experience with Point of Care Labs is a plus

Facility:

This 226-bed Level III non-profit community hospital includes a 34-bed emergency department that sees between 200 and 250 patients per day, making it the busiest emergency department in the state. The facility provides comprehensive emergency services across multiple zones and fast track areas, supporting a wide range of patient populations and acuity levels including trauma, stroke, cardiac, pediatric, and behavioral health cases.
