Job Details:

* Work 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
* Located on the 5th Floor, Northwest Tower of the Main Hospital building
* 30-bed unit with a staff of 65, including RNs and PCTs
* Patient ratios of 1:4, often 1:5
* Minimum 1 year of current PCU hospital experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale
* Must be proficient with the following equipment: telemetry monitors, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, trachs, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, Foleys, pacer wires/pacers, IV pumps, and SCD pumps
* EMR system: Meditech
* Perform post-cath care for right and left heart caths, TAVRs, ablations, Watchmans, pacemaker implantations, TR band management, and neurovascular checks
* Provide post thoracic surgery care including VATs/RATs, resections, lobectomies, and chest tube management
* Provide pre and post care for open-heart surgical patients including CABGs, MVRs, AVRs, and aortic dissection repairs
* Provide vascular surgery post-op care
* Preferred skills include chest tube management, chest tube removal, pacer wire removal, 12-lead EKGs, O2 management up to BiPAP and heated high-flow, and drip management including heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, Lasix, dobutamine, milrinone, and ketamine
* Ideal candidate is a great team player, high energy, flexible and adaptable, and values communication and collaboration

This is a fast-paced and high-acuity cardiac progressive/intermediate care unit recognized as a cardiac center of excellence. The unit specializes in complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical care, offering a challenging and rewarding environment for experienced PCU nurses. The facility is equipped with modern technology and staffed by an experienced team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
