RN - PCU/Stepdown

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts available for days, evenings, or nights
* Every other weekend required (Friday?Saturday for nights; Saturday?Sunday for days/evenings)
* No on-call required
* 48-hour weeks approved
* Patient ratio of 1:3?4
* At least 1 year of PCU/Stepdown experience required
* Cardiac drip experience required must be able to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips (hard stop requirement)
* May float to Telemetry or Medical-Surgical floors if overstaffed
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility
* Charge experience preferred
* Epic charting experience required
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Scrub color: Any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Common patient diagnoses include CHF, AFib with RVR, chest pain/rule out MI, heart catheterization, cardiac drips, and traditional medical-surgical patients
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care/management, chest tubes, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, IV insulin protocols, pacemaker management, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and more
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
* Candidates must work 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* Candidates may choose either Thanksgiving or Christmas but cannot have both off
* All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront during the submittal process

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care hospital designated as both a Level II Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. With 629 total staffed beds, it operates as a teaching hospital offering comprehensive interdisciplinary support services. The PCU/Stepdown unit consists of 42 beds and is supported by a robust team including respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and more.
