Job Details:

* 12-hour evening shifts with variable start times
* Weekend coverage required with 4 weekend shifts per biweekly period
* Ability to float to other facilities within the health system required
* Patient ratio of 4:1 across days, nights, and weekends
* Daily census of approximately 40 patients across 16 beds and 9 rooms
* Care for patients across all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Manage and treat diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, cardiac and respiratory arrest, DKA, abdominal pain, and orthopedic issues
* Must have experience working in a fast-paced, inner-city hospital environment
* 2 years of emergency department experience required
* Travel experience required with prior travel within 12 months
* BSN required
* Prior teaching hospital experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience required; Cerner proficiency preferred
* Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Required certifications: CA RN License, BLS (AHA), PALS, ACLS, TNCC
* Preferred certification: CEN
* Required skills include: BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, chest tube insertion and management, emergency medications, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, intubation, isolation precautions/PPE, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, starting and maintaining IVs, and triage
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and unit secretary
