Opportunity:

RN - Labor and Delivery

Job Details:

* Day and night shifts available from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Rotating weekend schedule with every other weekend required
* Holiday expectations include one major and one minor holiday
* No on-call responsibilities
* Schedule made in 3-week increments
* Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Strong Labor and Delivery experience required including cervical exams, antepartum and labor, amnio infusion, epidurals, fetal monitoring, IVs, and Pitocin
* Post-partum experience required including mom and baby care beyond transition period and basic breastfeeding support
* Experience with couplet care once mom and baby are stable required
* Patient ratios follow AWHONN and NANN guidelines: 1:1 for active labor, 1:2 for non-active laboring
* Level II Perinatal Center serving patients 32 weeks and above
* Common diagnoses include hypertension, magnesium administration, medication management for substance abuse, epidurals, and fetal monitoring
* EMR system: EPIC Stork and GE Centricity
* IV pumps: Alaris
* Medication dispensing: Pyxis experience required
* HUGS Security system experience required
* Traditional travelers will float between Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby units based on competency
* Will not float to START unit
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and fetal monitoring (AWHONN or Relia's module)
* Scrubs provided

Facility:

This facility is a Level III Trauma Center with 375 licensed beds offering a comprehensive women's and perinatal services department. The unit includes 9 LDR rooms, 2 OB ORs, 2 OB PACUs, an 11-bed Level II NICU, a 4-bed Pediatrics unit, a 20-bed Mother/Baby unit, an 18-bed START unit for Perinatal Addiction, and 3 OB ED beds for patients 20 weeks and above. The facility averages 175-200 deliveries per month and provides robust 24/7 support including hospitalist, laborist, respiratory therapy, and midwife and family practice groups.
