Open Position: RN - Tele Float Pool Stepdown

Opportunity:

RN - Float Pool

Job Details:

* Float pool position covering MedSurg Tele and PCU units across both campuses, including inpatients holding in the ED
* 12-hour shifts available for both day and night, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Every other weekend requirement
* Included in permanent staff rotation for holidays
* No on-call or standby requirement
* Unit assignments communicated via text message from staffing office 2 hours prior to shift start
* Schedule published 6 weeks out for 4-week periods; travelers must be flexible
* Night shift will attempt to accommodate block scheduling
* Nurse-to-patient ratios: PCU 1:4, MedSurg Tele 1:5-6
* Must have at least 1 year of experience in a PCU setting
* Must be comfortable titrating drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin
* Common patient populations include geriatric, orthopedic, post-procedural cardiac patients, post MI, post cardiac cath, and CABG post-op day 3-4
* Must be able to interpret cardiac monitor strips
* RT equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP in MedSurg; BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow in PCU
* Nurse aides utilized in all settings
* Charge nurses present on each unit and do not take patient assignments
* Charting system: Cerner
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS (AHA)
* Must pass dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to signing contract
* Dress code: Solid color professional scrubs, transitioning to navy scrubs in October
* Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per contract; 3 shifts if contract is under 13 weeks
* 50-mile radius rule applies
