Job Details:

* Minimum 3 years of experience required; 5 years of high-risk experience highly preferred
* Must have high acuity and high-paced environment experience
* First-time travelers accepted
* Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
* Float required between postpartum and antepartum units; may float to sister facilities for Mother/Baby
* Must be able to circulate for C-sections - HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Must function in the role of Baby Nurse during delivery and provide continued care of the newborn until transfer to postpartum - HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Must provide newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K injections (thighs), and newborn assessments - HARD STOP REQUIREMENT
* Experience with administration of Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate required
* Patient ratio: 1-2 patients per nurse
* Average daily census of 15 patients per day; 500-600 deliveries per month
* Unit consists of 31 rooms and 31 beds with 4 operating rooms
* Schedule posted every 6 weeks to meet unit needs
* Must commit to working 3 of 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Preferred certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate
* Epic charting system experience required; electronic fetal monitoring required
* Staffing follows AWHONN guidelines
* Interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy

Facility:

This facility operates a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, adults in substance recovery, and community care clinic patients. The unit features 31 beds, 4 operating rooms, and follows AWHONN staffing guidelines to ensure the highest standard of care. The facility provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services to support both staff and patients.
