Job Details:

* 13-week assignment length
* Available start dates every Monday
* Navy blue scrubs required
* 50-mile radius restriction - no local travelers
* Work in a 12-bed, 24-hour observation unit serving the heart/vascular service line
* Care for low acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in heart/vascular ICUs or stepdown units
* Monitor patients who have undergone same-day procedures requiring extended observation prior to discharge
* Accommodate LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters
* PA lines required; rare vents; no IABP; no Impella
* No ventilators, CRRT, or Impellas accepted on unit
* Care for presurgical patients
* Must complete a proctored rhythm identification test upon start (not multiple choice, two attempts allowed)
* CCRN preferred
* Minimum 18 months of specialty experience within the past 3 years required
* Georgia or compact license in hand required

This facility operates a fast-paced moderate care unit with high patient turnover and a wide variety of cardiovascular diagnoses. The unit serves as part of a comprehensive heart and vascular service line, encompassing multiple ICU and stepdown units. The environment offers an excellent learning platform for cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses, providing opportunities to develop critical care skills, organizational skills, and critical thinking abilities.
