Opportunity:
RN - Med Surg
Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
* Patient diagnoses include all potential Med Surg diagnoses
* Patient ratio of 1:6 with 32 rooms and an average daily census of 29
* Required certifications: BLS required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
* Required charting system experience: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; RTO blackout during Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* Holiday work expectations: if one major holiday falls within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it; if two major holidays fall within the assignment period, both are expected to be worked; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, two are expected to be worked
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Required skills include: Isolation Precautions/PPE, Wound Care/Wound Vac, Nasal Cannula, High Flow Nasal Cannula, Chest Tubes, Starting and Maintaining IVs, PICC Line Management, Blood Product Administration, and Feeding Tube Care and Management
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Phlebotomy, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Unit Secretary
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Orientation hours: 36
