Opportunity:

Neuro EXP Tele RN

Job Details:

* Every other weekend required
* No on-call required
* Patient ratio of 1:4
* Float between units to meet unit needs
* Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
* Neurology RN experience required
* Must be comfortable with the NIH scale and proficient in caring for post-surgical neurology patients and various neurology diagnoses
* Epic charting system experience required (hard stop)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Required skills: BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), craniotomy, CVA (cerebrovascular accident), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, neuro stepdown, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injury, telemetry, and traumatic brain injury
* Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Daily census of 48 patients across 64 beds
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Scrub color: any color for RNs
* No parking fee
* Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* May be expected to float between sister facilities nearby contracted facility

Facility:

This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. The facility operates as a teaching hospital and houses a designated stroke unit with Thrombectomy Capable JCAHO designation, a Spine Center of Excellence with JCAHO designation, and a NAEC Level 3 Epilepsy Center. The neuroscience unit specializes in neurology, neurosurgical, and telemetry patient care, supported by a comprehensive interdisciplinary team.
