RN - Med/Surg
Job Details:
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
* Required certification: BLS
* Medical surgical unit with remote telemetry
* Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* 38-bed unit with an average daily census of 33
* Required charting systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend coverage required
* Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
* No on-call requirements
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract; RTO blackout during Spring Break (April 4th?12th)
* All RTO must be finalized at time of submission; no schedule changes permitted post-offer or onsite
* No RTO permitted during orientation week (Monday?Sunday)
* Holiday work expectations: if 1?2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Skills required: Med/Surg, use of rapid response/code teams, peripheral line care and management, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oxygen administration, oxygen tanks, and isolation precautions/PPE
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, lift teams, rapid response teams, and more
* 24 orientation hours required
* Self-scheduling unit
