RN - ER/ED Float

Job Details:

* 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement and every other holiday requirement
* Schedule is released 4-6 weeks in advance and follows one of two formats: Option A (scheduled at a single facility for the week, may float within that facility if needed) or Option B Just-In-Time (facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call)
* Must float within Zone 3 (based around Denver City Center): OrthoColorado Hospital, Longmont United Hospital, St. Anthony Hospital, St. Anthony North Hospital, and 84th Ave Emergency Room
* Zone covers a 60-mile radius from Denver City Center - traveler is responsible for obtaining housing that makes floating throughout the full zone feasible
* No home base facility - must be flexible and willing to float throughout the entire zone
* Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
* Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
* Common drips include standard ER medications
* Will be trained and perform Point of Care lab testing
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently - no monitor techs available
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Techs available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
* 2-3 days of unit/department specific orientation required - must be in state for week of orientation
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color/dress code: Navy Blue
* Cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC

Facility:

This float pool opportunity spans multiple acute care emergency facilities within a 60-mile zone centered around Denver, Colorado. The facilities range in trauma designation and size, treating between 40-168 patients per day depending on location. The emergency departments are equipped with respiratory therapy available around the clock and utilize the EPIC charting system. Each facility is primarily a STEMI and stroke receiving center, providing high-acuity emergency care to the surrounding communities.
