Opportunity:
RN - PACU
Job Details:
* 8-hour day shifts with variable start times
* Ability to float to other affiliated facilities within a 75+ mile radius
* Patient ratios: 2:1 days and weekends, 3:1 nights
* Daily census of approximately 50 patients
* Serve adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
* Outpatient surgery center setting performing most same-day procedures, with the exception of orthopedic and cardiac cases
* Must be able to work in pre-op and extended care units in addition to PACU
* 5 years of nursing experience required with a minimum of 3 years PACU experience
* Teaching hospital experience required
* Travel experience required
* Strong knowledge of airway management, anesthesia recovery, and pain management required
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: CA RN License, BSN, AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Preferred certifications: CCRN or CPAN
* 2 years of critical care experience preferred
* Required skills include: Phase I PACU, Phase II Recovery, arterial line management, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, accessing/managing ports, pre-post care, starting and maintaining IVs, phlebotomy, discharge instructions, medication reconciliation, obtaining 12-lead EKG/ECG, straight urinary catheterization, and standard surgical procedure support including general, ENT, ophthalmology, gynecology, urology, robotics, and endoscopic/laparoscopic cases
* Standard hospital equipment utilized
* Interdisciplinary support available including interpretation services and pharmacy
* 40 orientation hours required
* Pre-approved time off: one request allowed, must be disclosed at time of submittal and approved by manager; no RTO within the first two weeks of assignment
