Opportunity:

RN - ER/ED Float

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts with every other weekend requirement
* Every other holiday requirement
* Float throughout Zone 4 (based around Garden City, KS) which covers a 60-mile radius, including Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital (Ulysses, KS), St. Catherine - Dodge City (Dodge City, KS), and St. Catherine - Garden City (Garden City, KS)
* No home base facility - float assignment will be communicated on or before Monday start date
* Nurse to patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
* Treat 6-49 patients per day, varying by location
* Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
* Administer standard ER medications and common drips
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor technicians are available
* Will be trained to perform Point of Care lab testing
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Charge nurse takes patient assignments
* Technician support available for unit secretary work, floor assistance, and triage
* Unit orientation is 2-3 days
* Must be in state for week of orientation even if first day modules are completed remotely
* Cannot miss more than 3 shifts in a 13-week contract
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), ENPC or PALS, NIHSS, TNCC

This healthcare network operates multiple acute care emergency departments across a 60-mile zone in southwestern Kansas. All three facilities are non-trauma designated but serve as STEMI and stroke receiving centers, providing comprehensive emergency care for a wide range of conditions. The facilities utilize EPIC as their charting system and maintain 24/7 respiratory therapy support, offering travelers a dynamic and varied clinical environment across multiple hospital settings.
