NICU RN
Job Details:
* Variable scheduling with weekend shifts required (every other or as needed)
* No on-call required
* No block schedules required
* Patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on patient acuity
* Scrub color: Any color
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* At least 1 year of NICU experience required
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
* May float between all units; only patients under the age of 2 on pediatric units (travelers float first)
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
* 24 orientation hours provided
* Required skills include but are not limited to: administration of blood and blood products, arterial line management, bubble CPAP, central line blood draw and care, developmental care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), high frequency ventilation, hyperbilirubinemia management, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, IV vasopressors, management of chest tubes, meconium aspiration, neonatal abstinence syndrome, neonatal dosage calculations, neonatal sepsis, nitric oxide (iNO), oscillators, phototherapy, therapeutic hypothermia, thermoregulation, tracheostomy care and management, UAC and UVC catheter management, ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), and more
* Ventilators managed by respiratory therapy
* Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response teams, interpretation services, and unit secretary
Facility:
This short-term acute care facility is a Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 total staffed beds. As a teaching hospital, it is committed to advancing medical education and providing comprehensive, high-quality patient care. The NICU unit has 61 beds with a daily census of 52, caring exclusively for neonatal patients with a wide range of complex diagnoses and conditions. The facility supports an interdisciplinary care model with robust ancillary services available to clinical staff.
