Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* General Med/Surg unit serving adult and geriatric patient populations
* Patient ratio of 1:6 on days, nights, and weekends
* Every other weekend shift required
* Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract
* All requested time off must be finalized at time of submission - no schedule changes permitted post-offer or on-site
* No time off can be requested during orientation week (Monday through Sunday)
* Holiday work expectations: if 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
* Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* 12 orientation hours required
* Required charting systems: Epic and Pyxis
* SBAR communication method required
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Required certification: BLS
* Minimum 1 year of experience required; first-time travelers accepted
* Charge experience preferred
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required skills include: blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, heparin, isolation precautions/PPE, MS/Tele, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen administration, PCA, peripheral line care and management, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, substance withdrawal, surgical drains, use of rapid response/code teams, and wound care/wound vac
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
* Georgia or Compact nursing license required at time of submission
