Opportunity:

RN - Heart & Vascular

Job Details:

* Work 12-hour night shifts with weekends and holidays as scheduled
* Every other weekend requirement
* Holiday requirement applies
* No on-call or standby requirement; overtime is available
* Unit consists of 32 private beds: 22 Stepdown and 12 Floor beds
* Stepdown ratio: 1 RN to 3 patients; Floor ratio: 1 RN to 6 patients
* Care for complex cardiac and vascular surgery post-op patients including CABG, LVAD, heart transplants, TAVRs, AAA repair, CEA, femoral bypass, and amputations
* Manage cardiology patients including STEMI, NSTEMI, heart failure, and cardiac cath procedures
* Required to titrate drips including heparin, amiodarone, Cardizem, TPA, Lasix, and dobutamine
* Work with RT equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
* Cardiac monitoring techs on unit interpret all telemetry strips
* Nurse aides available with 1 Clinical Associate per 8-10 patients
* Charge nurse and house supervisors available 24/7
* Floating may be required to sister units within the Heart and Vascular Institute
* 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Solid Royal Blue and white
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
* Cardiac and vascular experience required
* Acute care setting
