Job Details:

* Labor and Delivery RN position with a 1:2 patient ratio
* Weekend coverage required every other weekend, may exceed to meet unit need
* No on-call required
* Float to Mother Baby unit may be required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; minimum 1.5 years is a hard stop
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BLS, NRP
* AWHONN Advanced certification is a hard stop must have for consideration
* Must be able to perform sterile vaginal exams independently without supervision hard stop requirement
* Triage experience is a hard stop requirement
* Must be open to scheduling flexibility to meet unit needs; scheduling preferences may be considered but are not guaranteed
* Scheduling requests due to additional employment will not be considered
* Scrubs provided for L&D
* Charting system: Epic
* Orientation: 36 hours
* Facility can call off once per two-week pay period
* Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, and adults
* Skills required include but are not limited to: sterile vaginal exams, triage of obstetrical patients, labor and delivery, C-section scrub and circulate, postpartum hemorrhage management, magnesium sulfate therapy, external and internal fetal monitoring, antepartum care, high-risk antepartum care, newborn assessment, epidural anesthesia support, and IV management
* Patient diagnoses include labor, induction, preeclampsia, TOLAC, VBAC, multiples, preterm labor, antepartum, and high-risk antepartum
* Unit includes 2 ORs, 13 rooms, and 15 beds
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams

This acute care hospital is a 320-staffed-bed facility offering a wide range of inpatient and specialty services. The Labor and Delivery unit is supported by comprehensive interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. The facility is equipped with modern resources including two operating rooms dedicated to obstetrical care.
