Open Position: Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Opportunity:

RRT NICU

Job Details:

* Position will float internally between departments and must be flexible
* No on-call required
* Every other weekend required per CBA
* Block schedules are not required
* Patient ratios are dependent on hospital acuity
* Must be able to work independently within a Level 3 NICU autonomously
* Must have the skill and experience to work in a Level 2 regional trauma center
* All staff, including agency staff, are considered VAR (variable) for the unit
* Shift assignment (days or nights) is typically confirmed one to two weeks in advance
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; at least 1 year required
* NICU Level III or IV experience is a hard stop requirement
* Neuro Trauma ICU experience required
* Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
* Washington state license must be in hand at time of submission
* Charting system experience required; Epic is the charting system used
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CRT, NRP, PALS, RRT, PALS or ENPC, CRT or RRT
* Required skills include: Adult Critical Care, ARDS, Aspiration, Assist in high risk delivery, Bag and mask, BiPAP, Bronchoscopy, Bubble CPAP, CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BiPAP, Cystic Fibrosis, Direct Intubation (Neonatal), Drawing Arterial Blood Gases, ET Tube, Extubation, Fresh Tracheostomy, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), High Frequency Jet Ventilator, High Frequency Oscillator, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Intubation Assist, Nasal Airway Placement, Nasal Airway Suctioning, NICU, Nitric Oxide (INo), Oral Airway Placement, Oral/Nasal Suctioning, Oscillating Ventilator, Oxygen Tanks, Pneumonia, Pressure/Volume Ventilator, Pulmonary Hygiene, Spirometry, Sputum Specimen Collection, Suctioning (ETT, NT), T-piece, Trach Collar, Tracheostomy Care/Management, Troubleshooting High Pressure Alarms, Umbilical Blood Gases, and Weaning from Mechanical Ventilation
* Highly preferred experience with Bunnell Jet Ventilation in NICU
* Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities nearby the contracted facility; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment and/or forfeiture of guaranteed hours
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day

This facility is a large healthcare organization with a daily census of 300 and 337 beds, providing care to a wide range of patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The facility offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Interpretation Services, Phlebotomy, Radiology, Social Services, Lift Teams, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, Transportation, and Unit Secretary support. The organization operates a Level 3 NICU and a Level 2 regional trauma center, providing advanced care for complex and critical patient populations.
