Opportunity:

MED SURG RN

Job Details:

* 12-hour shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week
* Every other weekend coverage required
* No call required
* Float required
* Patient ratio of 1:4 on days and 1:5 on nights
* Must be able to work with pediatric patients as needed on a mixed pediatric and adult unit (infant through adult population)
* Pediatric patients are not critical - typical cases include RSV, pneumonia, and failure to thrive
* Telemetry experience preferred but not required
* Minimum 2 years of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Required certifications: BLS and NIHSS
* Preferred certifications: ACLS and CPI
* OK or compact license required
* Scrub color: Blue for nursing
* Charting system: Meditech experience preferred
* Feeding tube care and management experience preferred
* IV therapy and phlebotomy experience preferred
* Skills including accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy management, heparin, insulin, wound care/wound vac, PICC line management, and telemetry remote monitoring
* Blocked schedules are not permitted
* RTO must be included with submission

Facility:

This facility is a short-term acute care, voluntary non-profit hospital designated as a Level III Trauma Center with 110 total staffed beds and 66 rooms. Formed more than 45 years ago through the merger of three area hospitals, the organization has grown into a non-profit system consisting of two hospitals and 20 provider clinics offering a variety of specialty practices including cancer-oncology, wound care, and cardiac care. The facility provides interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy.
