Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
* Travel experience required
* Community hospital experience required
* LTAC experience preferred
* Patient ratios of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
* Weekend shifts required
* On-call required
* May float to Med Surg within scope to meet facility needs
* Block scheduling available
* Guaranteed hours
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS, ISTAT
* Meditech charting experience preferred
* Oklahoma or compact license required
* Travel pairs allowed
* Required skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVA/acute stroke management, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, PICC line management, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath/intervention, procedural sedation administration/monitoring, titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventricular assist device (LVAD/RVAD) management
* Special equipment used includes: Phillips monitors, ultrasound, Glidescope, Rotobeds, arterial/CVP monitors, Alaris pumps, and ETco2 monitoring
* Interdisciplinary support available including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
* Patient population includes adolescents and adults with diagnoses such as COPD, vascular surgeries, respiratory failure, DKA, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis, and multisystem organ failure
Facility:
This facility is a community hospital offering a 9-bed intensive care unit with a daily census of 4 patients. The unit provides comprehensive critical care services supported by an interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. The facility is equipped with advanced monitoring and specialized equipment to support a wide range of complex patient diagnoses and critical care procedures.
