Opportunity:

RN - Med/Surg

Job Details:

* 3x12 hour night shifts
* Weekend coverage required with 2 weekend shifts per pay period, flexible with department needs
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* 100-mile radius rule, no local candidates
* Patient ratio of 1:6 for days, nights, and weekends
* Charting system: Epic (experience required)
* Required certification: BLS
* Trauma Level II experience preferred
* Float required as long as competencies are met
* Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
* Daily census of 48 patients across 48 beds
* Common patient diagnoses include sepsis, CIWA, confusion/AMS, COPD, post-op care, AKI, trauma, respiratory failure, bowel obstruction, pyelonephritis, cardiac conditions, diabetes, GI conditions, isolation, and SI with medical indications
* Required skills include but are not limited to: accessing/managing ports, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, central line blood draw, chest tubes, colostomy/ileostomy care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin administration, high flow nasal cannula, insulin administration, interpretation of arterial blood gases, isolation precautions/PPE, PICC line management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
* Must demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and adapt to changing patient safety requirements
