Job Details:
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* Travel experience required (hard stop) - manager prefers travelers with at least 3 ER contracts completed; candidates with 1-2 completed travel assignments will be screened
* Epic experience required (hard stop) - candidates without Epic experience will be redirected
* Patient population: Adolescents to Geriatrics
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS; SANE and TNCC preferred
* Large, high-acuity, non-trauma emergency department with Stroke and STEMI certification
* Patient ratio of 1:4 with 74-bed ER averaging 165-175 patients per day
* Charting system: Epic (required); Pyxis also used
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* RTO blackout dates: Spring Break (April 4th - 12th)
* No RTO can be requested during orientation week (Monday through Sunday)
* Holiday policy: If 1-2 major holidays fall during assignment period, traveler is expected to work all of them; if 3 major holidays fall during assignment period, traveler is expected to work 2 of them
* Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
* Floating is rare but may occur within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital experience preferred
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* 24 hours of orientation required
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, and pharmacy

This large and busy emergency department is a high-acuity facility certified in both Stroke and STEMI care, serving a broad patient population from adolescents to geriatrics. The facility operates a 74-bed emergency department seeing an average of 165-175 patients per day and offers comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services. The organization maintains high clinical standards and requires experienced travel professionals who can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
