Medical-Surgical ICU
Job Details:
* 3x12 day shifts with block scheduling
* Weekend coverage required with 6 shifts per 6-week period
* Patient ratio of 1:2 for days, nights, and weekends
* 2 years of experience preferred
* Travel experience preferred
* Previous charge experience preferred
* Community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Charting system: Epic (required)
* Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS*, PALS*
* Float required based on schedule
* Treats adult and geriatric patient populations
* Unit consists of 16 beds across 12 rooms with a daily census of 14
* Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
* Special equipment: CRRT (NXXT Stage)
* Key skills include arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation, CVVHD/CRRT, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs), interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, phlebotomy, PICC line management, starting and maintaining IVs, suctioning (ETT, NT), titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and ventilator management
