MT - Blood Bank

Job Details:

* Primarily working in the blood bank unit
* Every third weekend required
* No on-call responsibilities
* Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
* Minimum 2 years of experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
* MLT credentials not accepted; acceptable certifications include ASCP, ASCP MT, ASCP-BB, AMT, or ABB
* Travel experience required
* Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
* Charting system experience required
* Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
* If one or two major holidays fall within assignment period, no holiday RTO can be requested; if three holidays fall within assignment period, one holiday RTO may be considered
* Expected to work major holidays that fall within assignment period per holiday policy
* Required skills include blood banking procedures, ABO/Rh/antibody screen and identification, AHG crossmatch, electronic crossmatch, transfusion reaction workup, antigen typing, thawing and cooling of blood products, crossmatch immediate spin and IgG, manual differential, CBC manual, specimen collection, quality assurance and controls, and additional laboratory procedures
