Opportunity:

Ophthalmic Technician

Job Details:

* Monday through Friday shifts from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
* Requires 1-2 Saturday shifts per month on rotation from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
* No floating required
* No on-call required
* No scheduling requests can be accommodated
* Perform diagnostic and eye function tests including clinical optics, ocular motility, visual fields, keratometry, topography, A-Scans, and Schirmer test
* Assist ophthalmologist during examinations and surgeries
* Prepare exam rooms and patients for exams and surgeries
* Perform auto-refraction and intraocular pressure measurements
* Measure and record visual acuity and color vision testing
* Obtain and record medical history, vital signs, and medications/allergies
* Place dilating drops in eyes as ordered
* Operate Humphrey visual field analyzer, autorefractor, lensometer, and corneal topography equipment
* Experience in a high volume, fast-paced, multi-provider office required
* Serve patient age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
* 2 years of experience required
* Ophthalmic Tech Diploma from an accredited program required
* Optos experience required
* Epic charting system experience required
* Required certifications: BLS (AHA or ARC), COT
* Active license required at time of submission - pending licenses not accepted
* First-time travelers accepted
