Open Position: RN - Pre Op PACU

Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $2106.68

Opportunity:

RN - Preop Holding/Day Surgery

Job Details:

* Work 3-12 hour shifts or 4-10 hour shifts per week
* Shift start times vary at 5:00 AM, 5:30 AM, 6:00 AM, 6:30 AM, or 7:00 AM depending on surgery schedule
* Typical shift start time is 5:30 AM unless it is a day-to-close shift
* One closing day per week required, staying until the unit closes (closing shift runs 7:00 AM until last patient leaves)
* Additional pay provided for time after 7:00 PM on closing days
* No weekends or holidays required
* Will only float within Day Surgery and Preop Holding
* Blue scrubs required as dress code
* Document patient care using Meditech system
* Utilize cardiac monitors, ultrasound, and EKG machine
* Perform IV starts and moderate sedation
* Prepare surgical patients for surgery and provide Phase 2 recovery
* Advanced procedures performed on unit include nerve blocks, arterial lines, central lines, and Swan
* Unit secretary and tech support available in Day Surgery
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
* Must have IV start skills, moderate sedation experience, and experience with surgical patient preparation and Phase 2 recovery

This is a large acute care medical center with 472 beds, offering a wide range of surgical and medical services. The facility operates a dedicated Preop Holding and Day Surgery unit within the main hospital building, supported by unit secretaries and technicians. The organization is known for excellent teamwork within the unit and maintains a strong commitment to quality patient care throughout the surgical process.
