Opportunity:

Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Details:

* Provide speech and/or language therapy services to a predominantly Native American population for the rehabilitation of patients with various developmental, cognitive, mental, emotional, and physical disabilities
* Serve inpatient and outpatient populations with a regular work week schedule (weekend services not available)
* Assess and interpret evaluations and test results for patients ranging in age from birth through geriatric
* Document evaluations, treatment, follow-up, and termination of services in electronic health record
* Determine speech therapy treatment plans by physician referral or in consultation with physicians
* Set realistic treatment goals based on patient's physical and mental abilities, needs, evaluation findings, and diagnosis
* Recommend and implement adjustments and modifications to therapy plans based on patient progress
* Select and construct therapies according to patient goals and needs
* Instruct patients, families, and staff in appropriate speech-language procedures, therapies, or home programs
* Provide specialty services including swallowing evaluation, Videofluoroscopy (VFSS), Modified Barium Swallowing (MBS), and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES)
* Provide cognitive treatment, voice treatment, pediatric speech/language therapy treatment, and pediatric feeding evaluation
* Participate in specialty clinics including Geriatric clinic and Assistive Technology/adaptive equipment evaluation and treatment
* Consult with Physical Rehabilitation team and other healthcare workers including physicians, nurses, and social workers
* Provide training and in-services for student and staff education
* Assist with direction and development of speech therapy services including quality improvement, risk management, and safety
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an ASHA-accredited school required
* Minimum 2 years of experience as a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist required
* Must have pediatric (5 years and younger) and adult experience including dysphagia and neuro
* Must hold and maintain ASHA certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology
* Must possess a valid, current, full, and unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license from Arizona or any U.S. state, District of Columbia, or Commonwealth of Puerto Rico
* Must hold and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association
* Must meet requirements to be credentialed to serve on the Medical Staff
