Job Details:

* 13-week assignment with night shifts scheduled 3x12 hours
* Guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period with the possibility of being called off for 1 twelve-hour shift per 2-week period
* Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend and is subject to staffing needs
* Patient ratio of 1:4 for bedside RN and 1:6 for CNA
* Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model utilized on unit with 1 bedside RN, 1 Virtual RN, and 1 CNA per patient
* Float required to lower acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical as needed
* No on-call required
* Block scheduling not available
* Minimum 1 year of experience required
* First-time travelers accepted
* Candidate's permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
* Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
* Epic charting system experience required
* Scrubs provided by facility
* Free parking available
* Care for a wide variety of patient populations including cardiac (30%), respiratory, neuro, renal, and complex medical-surgical patients
* Cardiac patients include CHF, MI, post-TAVR, MVR, pacemaker, cardiac arrhythmia, drug load, Angiovac, and ACS patients
* Respiratory patients include COPD and asthma exacerbations, trach patients (greater than 24 hours since placement), chronic home ventilators, high flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP
* Complicated medical-surgical patients requiring higher level of monitoring including ETOH withdrawal and GI bleeds
* Special equipment includes Philips Monitors in each room, Massimo Capnography, and safe patient handling equipment
* Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
* Must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
* All requested time off must be submitted at time of submittal

With 407 total staffed beds, this facility offers a high standard of patient care supported by comprehensive interdisciplinary services. The progressive care unit is a stepdown unit from the ICU, serving a wide variety of patient populations across multiple disciplines and utilizing an innovative Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model to enhance patient outcomes.
