Open Position: RN - ER Float Pool

Job Details:

* 12-hour day shifts with every other weekend requirement
* Float position covering Zone 3, which spans a 60-mile radius around Denver City Center
* No home base facility - must be willing and able to float throughout the full zone
* Float facilities include: OrthoColorado Hospital (Lakewood, CO), Longmont United Hospital (Longmont, CO), St. Anthony Hospital (Lakewood, CO), St. Anthony North Hospital (Westminster, CO), and 84th Ave Emergency Room (Westminster, CO)
* Schedules are released 4-6 weeks in advance and follow one of two formats:
- Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week with possible floating within that facility
- Option B (Just-In-Time): Facility assigned 1-2 hours before shift start via call
* Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 based on acuity
* Average patient volume ranges from 40-168 patients per day depending on location
* Must be able to read and interpret telemetry independently as no monitor techs are present
* Will be trained to perform Point-of-Care lab testing
* Respiratory therapy available 24/7
* Techs available to support unit secretary work, assist nurses on the floor, and assist in triage
* Common diagnoses include abdominal pain, diabetes, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension
* Charting system: EPIC
* Scrub color: Navy Blue
* Unit/department-specific orientation: 2-3 days
* Minimum 2 years of ED experience required
* BSN not required
* Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), NIHSS, TNCC
* Traveler must not miss more than 3 shifts during a 13-week contract

Facility:

This float pool position covers multiple acute care emergency departments within a 60-mile radius of Denver's city center, including facilities ranging from trauma level 3 designations to STEMI and stroke receiving centers. The emergency departments vary in size and specialty, offering a dynamic and diverse clinical environment. Respiratory therapy is available around the clock, and each facility is supported by charge nurses, nursing techs, and mid-level providers to ensure comprehensive patient care.
