Opportunity:
RN - Medical/Surgical
Job Details:
* Deliver patient care through the nursing process of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
* Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients based on nursing practice standards
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, cost-effective, and efficient care
* Provide care for patients across all age groups, from birth to elderly
* Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity when rendering patient care
* Administer treatments, medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and provide patient/family education
* Utilize office equipment including computer, telephone, fax machine, and copy machine
* Operate medical equipment including EKG and Cystoscopy as appropriate for the position
* Apply basic EKG skills and basic nursing skills in patient care setting
* Supervise unit secretaries and PCTs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
* Must be licensed in good standing in the State of Alaska as a Registered Professional Nurse
* Current BLS certification required
* Minimum of one year of experience in a healthcare setting as a Registered Nurse preferred
* Proficient oral and written communication skills required
* Knowledge of medical terminology required
* Must be flexible with work schedule and possess the ability for independent actions within prescribed limits
* Guaranteed hours of 40 per week
