Open Position: RN - Mother Baby Postpartum

Opportunity:

RN - Post Partum

Job Details:

* Care for women of childbearing age and newborns in a 26-bed Mother Baby unit
* Patient ratios of 6-8 patients per nurse
* Variable scheduling with typically 2 hard-to-staff shifts (Monday/Friday) and 1 full weekend requirement every 3rd week plus 1 additional weekend
* No on-call requirements
* Floating policy within women's services unless cross-trained to pediatrics and/or NICU
* Patient experience includes post-partum care, LDRP, well baby nursery, recoveries, and attending births for baby
* Perform circumcisions and other unit-specific procedures
* Utilize equipment including vitals machine, glucometer, computer, TCB, and post-partum supplies
* Document using CPN and Meditech systems
* Assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
* Provide discharge education and assessment, pain management, and prioritization of patient care needs
* Utilize AIDET and BSSR communication frameworks
* Work alongside RNs with occasional PCT support during short staffing; no unit secretary available
* Required certifications: BLS, NRP
* Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
* Required uniform: Black scrub pants and Caribbean blue scrub top, vest, or jacket
