Job Details:

* Night shift position working 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
* Rotating weekends and holidays required (3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Saturday)
* No on-call or standby call requirements
* Floating requirement is very rare
* 32-bed stepdown unit with patient ratios of 1:3 for stepdown assignments and 1:4 for combo assignments
* 3 shifts of unit orientation provided
* Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
* Charting system: EPIC
* BSN not required
* Care setting: Acute
* Must have strong MedSurg Stepdown experience
* Must be able to titrate drips with specific parameters (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix - no vasopressors)
* Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips
* RNs required to interpret and chart patient rhythm with assessment every 4 hours or more frequently during medication titration
* Common diagnoses include post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients
* Experience with BiPap and traches required (no ventilators on unit)
* Scrub color: Royal Blue
* Required certifications: ACLS and BLS (both required)
* Valid driver's license with address outside of 50 miles from facility required

Facility:

This acute care facility operates a 32-bed stepdown unit staffed with a dedicated charge nurse and three in-house supervisors per shift, along with 3-4 CNAs per shift to support nursing staff. The unit is equipped with centralized telemetry monitoring at the nurses' station and in patient rooms, providing comprehensive cardiac monitoring capabilities. The facility utilizes EPIC as its electronic charting system and maintains a collaborative care environment focused on post-surgical thoracic and medicine patient populations.
